Lecturas de ciencia ficción y fantasía
Acaban de hacerse públicos los finalistas de los premios de la Semana Negra de Gijón y por lo tanto, los finalistas del Celsius. Son los siguientes:
“Hijos del Clan Rojo”, de Elia Barceló
“Los nombres muertos”, de Jesús Cañadas
“Memoria de tinieblas”, de Eduardo Vaquerizo
¡Enhorabuena a los finalistas! El Celsius de este año promete ser apasionante.
Este fin de semana se anunciaron los nominados a los premios Hugo de este año y como casi siempre, vienen acompañados de la correspondiente polémica. Aquí tenéis los nominados, con los enlaces a lo que haya disponible de forma gratuita en la red y también a las obras que ya he leído y comentado con anterioridad. Cabe destacar que en novela lo que está nominado es la serie completa de la Rueda del Tiempo, lo cual puede hacer que el Hugo Voter Packet sea enorme, aunque no lo creo. También parece que el hecho de que la convención este año tenga lugar en Londres puede haber jugado a favor de Charles Stross, con dos nominaciones. Por último, veo que el John W. Campbell de este año viene muy fuerte, con tres de mis nominados entre los elegidos: Max Gladstone, Ramez Naam y Benjanun Sriduangkaew.

El escritor Randy Henderson ha ganado el prestigioso premio Writers of the future, que desde 1983 ha seleccionado a los escritores de ciencia ficción y fantasía con la carrera más prometedora por delante. Otros ganadores han sido Brad Beaulieu y Aliette de Bodard.
Randy Henderson también ha vendido su nueva serie de fantasía urbana a Tor. El primer libro se titulará “Finn Fancy Necromancy“.
Se han dado a conocer los candidatos a los premios Rhysling otorgados por la Science Fiction Poetry Association. Se trata de obras poéticas con temática de ciencia ficción publicadas en 2013.
