Ganadores premios Xingyun
Los ganadores de este año de los premios Xingyun, algo así como los Nébula chinos, son los siguientes:
Ruins of Time, escrito por Baoshu. Esta novela cuenta la historia de un mundo donde todo, excepto las memorias de algunas personas, vuelven a un punto fijo cada 20 horas, como resultado de un experimento fallido.
Ken Liu ha ganado un premio especial por traducir entre otras obras chinas, The Three-Body Problem.
“Smart Life” de Ping Zongqi (Taiwan) ha ganado el premio a mejor relato corto.
Ganadores premios Endeavour 2014
Este año los jueces del premio Endeavour han sido Catherine Asaro, Scott Edelman y Matthew Johnson. Su labor no ha debido ser fácil, ya que ha habido un empate por el galardón, concedido a una novela o colección de relatos de un autor del Pacífico Noroeste.
Los ganadores han sido:
- Nexus, Ramez Naam (Angry Robot)
- Requiem, Ken Scholes (Tor)
Los finalistas han sido:

Ganador premio European Utopiales
Este fin de semana, se ha dado a conocer el ganador del premio European Utopiales destinado a una novela o colección de ciencia ficción publicada en francés durante el año anterior.
El ganador es :
Sumerki (Dusk) de Dmitry Glukhovsky, traducido por Denis E. Savine (Éditions L’Atalante)

When Dmitry Alexeievitch, a penniless translator, insists at his agency to obtain a new contract he has no idea that his life will be turned upside down. As he starts translating the first chapter he is offered nothing new, although it is a strange text that unfolds: the story of an expedition in the unexplored forests of Yucatan in the sixteenth century, an army led by the Franciscan priest Diego de Landa. But the chapters given to him are offered one by one by a mysterious sponsor. Also, when the agency employer is brutally murdered and the dangers reported in the document interfere with his everyday life Dmitry Alexeievitch gets scared. From the shadows of the past, are the Mayan gods and demons desperate to protect forbidden knowledge? Unless, of course, this Spanish manuscript has made him lose his mind. While the world around him is devastated by hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis, time is running out for discovering the truth.
Sumerki, a mix of esoteric suspense and magic realism, is the second novel of Dmitry Glukhovsky. It is as much an intimately involvement as it is a flamboyant and gloomy vision of nowadays Moscow.
Ganador premio WSFA Small Press
Este fin de semana se ha anunciado el ganador del premio WSFA Small Press y me hace mucha ilusión que haya sido Alex Shvartsman con su “Explaining Cthulhu to Grandma”. Alex siempre ha sido extraordinariamente amable con Fantástica-Ficción así que desde aquí le damos nuestra más sincera enhorabuena.
Ganadores de los premios Copper Cylinder
Los miembros de la Sunburst Award Society ha dado a conocer los ganadores de los premios Copper Cylinder, cuyo original trofeo podéis ver en la imagen superior.
- Premio Copper Cylinder Libro para adultos: River of Stars de Guy Gavriel Kay (Penguin Group Canada).
- Premio Copper Cylinder Libro juvenil: Homeland de Cory Doctorow (Tom Doherty Associates).
Finalistas del premio Minotauro
Ya se han publicado los finalistas del premio Minotauro, el mejor dotado económicamente a nivel mundial en el género de ciencia ficción y fantasía con un premio de 10.000 euros.

National Book Award honorario para Úrsula K. Leguin
La afamada Úrsula K. Leguin ha recibido el premio honorario National Book por toda su carrera.
El director ejecutivo de la fundación que concede el premio dijo de ella:
“Ursula Le Guin has had an extraordinary impact on several generations of readers and, particularly, writers in the United States and around the world. She has shown how great writing will obliterate the antiquated — and never really valid — line between popular and literary art. Her influence will be felt for decades to come.”
