Anunciada nueva novella de Becky Chambers

Se ha dado a conocer cuál será la nueva novella de Becky Chambers, titulada To Be Taught, If Fortunate. 

Aunque hay pocos datos al respecto, pero lo que se sabe es que será un novela única situada en un mundo donde los exploradores del sistema solar deben transformarse para poder afrontar los ambientes hostiles que se van encontrando.

Es el primer libro de Chambers fuera de su universo Wayfarers, así que habrá que ver cómo se desenvuelve en un entorno nuevo.

La fecha de publicación es agosto de 2019 y yo sé de más de uno que lo esperará con impaciencia.

Finalistas para el Prometheus Hall of Fame

Se ha dado a conocer la portada de The Undefeated, la nueva space opera de Una McCormack, cuya fecha de publicación es el 14 de mayo.

Según la nota de prensa, The Undefeated es una space opera feminista sobre una periodista jubilada tras una vida dedicada a exponer la corrupción y ayudar a los demás. En un arrebato de nostalgia, vuelve a su planeta natal y acaba teniendo que luchar con el enemigo más novedoso de la humanidad, los jenjer.

Desvelada la portada de Longer

Aquí os traigo la que será portada de Longer, una novella de Michael Blumlein centrada en grandes preguntas sobre la mortalidad humana y lo que significa envejecer, con diseño de Christine Foltzer. La fecha de publicación es el 28 de mayo de la mano de Tor.com.

Esta es la sinopsis:

Gunjita and Cav are orbiting in space performing R & D pharmaceutical studies for Gleem Galactic. They are wealthy enough to participate in rejuvenation: rebooting themselves from old age to jump their bodies back to their twenties. You get two chances. The third time is a calculated risk.

Gunjita has “juved” for her second and last time, but Cav is reluctant to join her. Instead he’s obsessed with the unidentified object that they encounter out in space. Is it alive? He believes that it just might be. The prospect of first contact is possible, but their marriage may not survive the challenge…

Mi traducción:

Gunjita y Cav están orbitando en el espacio mientras llevan a cabo estudios farmacéuticos para Gleem Galactic. Son los suficientemente ricos para participar en el proceso de rejuvenecimiento: “reiniciarse” para que sus cuerpo vuelvan a estar en la veintena. Tienes dos oportunidades. Portada de Howling Dark

Se ha hablado bastante de Empire of Silence, la primera novela de Christopher Ruocchio, y ya tenemos aquí cuál será la portada de la segunda entrega de esta historia más grande que la vida.

La novela se llamará Howling Dark  y podremos seguir conociendo las peripecias de la vida de Hadrian Marlowe. El libro se publicará el 4 de julio de la mano de Gollancz.
