Anunciada The Fallen, la continuación de The Outside

The Outside fue una de las gratas sorpresas del año pasado, así que saber que Ada Hoffman ha escrito la continuación y que verá la luz en julio del año que viene gracias a Angry Robot es una muy buena noticia.

La novela se titulará The Fallen y también hay confirmada una tercera entrega.

Esta es la sinopsis:

The laws of physics acting on the planet of Jai have been forever upended; its surface completed altered, and its inhabitants permanently changed. The artificially intelligent Gods that ruled the galaxy, fearing heresy and chaos, have become the planet’s jailers. Tiv Hunt once trusted these Gods absolutely, but now her world has changed and her allegiance has shifted.

Now Tiv spends her days helping the last remaining survivors of Jai. Everyone is fighting for their freedom against unthinkable odds, and they call out for drastic action from their saviour, Yasira. But she has become deeply ill, debilitated by her Outside exposure, and she struggles to keep breathing let alone lead a revolution.

Hunted by the Gods, and Akavi, the disgraced angel, Yasira and Tiv them must delve further than ever before into the maddening mysteries of their fractured planet in order to save – or perhaps destroy – their fading world.

All that changes when Welga Ramirez—executive bodyguard and ex-special forces—witnesses the murder of her client, killed by a new and mysterious terrorist group that has simultaneously attacked several major pill funders. It’s known as The Machinehood.

The Machinehood operatives seem to be part human, part machine, something the world has never seen. They issue an ultimatum: stop all pill production in one week.

Global panic ensues as pill production slows and many become ill. Thousands destroy their bots in fear of a strong AI takeover. But the US government believes the Machinehood is a cover for an old enemy. One that Welga is uniquely qualified to fight.

Welga, determined to take down the Machinehood, is pulled back into intelligence work by the government that betrayed her. But who are the Machinehood and what do they really want?

Aquí os traigo la portada de The Unbroken, la primera novela de C.L. Clark, que Orbit publicará en marzo del año que viene.

El diseño es de Lauren Panepinto y la ilustración de tommy Arnold, no sé vosotros pero yo la veo llena de fuerza.

Se ha anunciado la publicación de Seasonal Fears, la continuación de Middlegame novela ganadora del Locus este año. Tor.com publicará la novela en la primavera del año que viene.

Ya sabemos cuál será la portada de The Expert’s Systems Champion, la continuación de The Expert System’s Brother de Adrian Tchaikovsky que verá la luz en enero del año que viene.
