Anunciada la publicación de A Woman of the Sword

Luna Press Publishing publicará en 2023 A Woman of the Sword, la nueva novela de Anna Smith Spark.

Definen la novela como una fantasía épica a través de los ojos de una mujer normal. Lidae es hija, esposa y madre y una grandiosa guerrera nacida para luchar. Su espada está sedienta de violencia, su mano derecha roja de sangre. La guerra es un tema de mujeres aunque no es buena con ellas, así como no lo es con las madres y sus hijos.

Habrá que esperar al año que viene para ver qué nos ofrece la reina del grimdark.

Cubierta de The Keeper’s Six

Tor.com ha anunciado cómo será la cubierta de The Keeper’s Six, la nueva novela corta de Kate Elliott que verá la luz en enero del año que viene.

Esta es la sinopsis:

There are terrors that dwell in the space between worlds.

It’s been a year since Esther set foot in the Beyond, the alien landscape stretching between worlds, crossing boundaries of space and time. She and her magical travelling party, her Hex, haven’t spoken since the Concilium banned them from the Beyond for a decade. But when she wakes in the middle of the night to her son’s cry for help, the members of her Hex are the only ones she can trust to help her bring him back from wherever he has been taken.

Esther will have to risk everything to find him. Undercover and hidden from the Concilium, she and her Hex will be tested by false dragon lords, a darkness so dense it can suffocate, and the bones of an old crime come back to haunt her.

Solaris publicará Redsight

Solaris ha anunciado la adquisición de los derechos de Redsight de Meredith Mooring, para publicarla en primavera de 2024.

La novela sigue los pasos de una sacerdotisa ciega que puede manipular el espacio tiempo y utiliza su poder para hacer funcionar las naves de guerra del ejército galáctico. Cuando un pirata de oscuro pasado asesina a la capitana de su nave, deberá elegir entre una dolorosa vida de servicio o la oportunidad de disfrutar de la libertad con el criminal más buscado de la galaxia.

Tor.com ha desvelado cuál será la cubierta de The Lies of the Ajungo de Moses Ose Utomi.

The Lies of the Ajungo es una novela corta que Tor.com publicará en marzo de 2023. Esta es la sinopsis:

They say there is no water in the City of Lies. They say there are no heroes in the City of Lies. They say there are no friends beyond the City of Lies. But would you believe what they say in the City of Lies?

In the City of Lies, they cut out your tongue when you turn thirteen, to appease the terrifying Ajungo Empire and make sure it continues sending water. Tutu will be thirteen in three days, but his parched mother won’t last that long. So Tutu goes to the city’s oba and makes a deal: she provides water for his mother, and in exchange he will travel out into the desert and bring back water for the city. Thus begins Tutu’s quest for the salvation of his mother, his city, and himself.

Cubierta de Notorious Sorcerer

Orbit ha dado a conocer cuál será la cubierta de Notorious Sorcerer, la primera novela de Davinia Evans, que verá la luz en septiembre.

Esta es la sinopsis:

Ever since the city of Bezim was shaken half into the sea by a magical earthquake, the Inquisitors have policed alchemy with brutal efficiency. Nothing too powerful, too complicated, too much like real magic is allowed–and the careful science that’s left is kept too expensive for any but the rich and indolent to tinker with. Siyon Velo, a glorified errand boy scraping together lesson money from a little inter-planar fetch and carry, doesn’t qualify.

But when Siyon accidentally commits a public act of impossible magic, he’s catapulted into the limelight. Except the limelight is a bad place to be when the planes themselves start lurching out of alignment, threatening to send the rest of the city into the sea.

Now Siyon, a dockside brat who clawed his way up and proved himself on rooftops with saber in hand, might be Bezim’s only hope. Because if they don’t fix the cascading failures of magic in their plane, the Powers and their armies in the other three will do it for them.
