Portada de The Gurkha and the Lord of Tuesday

No tengo referencias sobre este libro ni sobre el autor, pero la portada de Eric Nyquist, me ha encantado y viniendo de la mano de Jonathan Strahan, será sin duda un lanzamiento que tener en cuenta.

El libro se titula The Gurkha and the Lord of Tuesday y es obra de Saad Z. Hossain. Se publicará el 13 de agosto de la mano de Tor.com Publishing.

La sinopsis:

When the djinn king Melek Ahmar wakes up after millennia of imprisoned slumber, he finds a world vastly different from what he remembers. Arrogant and bombastic, he comes down the mountain expecting an easy conquest: the wealthy, spectacular city state of Kathmandu, ruled by the all-knowing, all-seeing tyrant AI Karma. To his surprise, he finds that Kathmandu is a cut-price paradise, where citizens want for nothing and even the dregs of society are distinctly unwilling to revolt.

Everyone seems happy, except for the old Gurkha soldier Bhan Gurung. Desvelada la portada de Longer

Aquí os traigo la que será portada de Longer, una novella de Michael Blumlein centrada en grandes preguntas sobre la mortalidad humana y lo que significa envejecer, con diseño de Christine Foltzer. La fecha de publicación es el 28 de mayo de la mano de Tor.com.

Esta es la sinopsis:

Gunjita and Cav are orbiting in space performing R & D pharmaceutical studies for Gleem Galactic. They are wealthy enough to participate in rejuvenation: rebooting themselves from old age to jump their bodies back to their twenties. You get two chances. The third time is a calculated risk.

Gunjita has “juved” for her second and last time, but Cav is reluctant to join her. Instead he’s obsessed with the unidentified object that they encounter out in space. Is it alive? He believes that it just might be. The prospect of first contact is possible, but their marriage may not survive the challenge…

Portada de Howling Dark

Se ha hablado bastante de Empire of Silence, la primera novela de Christopher Ruocchio, y ya tenemos aquí cuál será la portada de la segunda entrega de esta historia más grande que la vida.

La novela se llamará Howling Dark  y podremos seguir conociendo las peripecias de la vida de Hadrian Marlowe. El libro se publicará el 4 de julio de la mano de Gollancz.

La portada ha sido diseñada por Patrick Knowles.

Anunciada Edges, la nueva novela de Linda Nagata

Linda Nagata ha anunciado en su newsletter la próxima publicación de su nueva novela, Edges. Será la primera entrega de una nueva serie llamada Inverted Frontier. El escenario en el que estarán situadas es el mismo de sus novelas Nanotech Succession (como The Bohr Maker), pero no será necesario haber leído las entregas anteriores. La fecha de publicación es el dos de abril.

Os traigo la portada de Storm of Locusts, la segunda entrega de la serie The Sixth World de Rebecca Roanhorse (el primer libro se llamaba Trail of Lightning).

Esta es la sinopsis:

Kai and Caleb Goodacre have been kidnapped just as rumors of a cult sweeping across the reservation leads Maggie and Hastiin to investigate an outpost, and what they find there will challenge everything they’ve come to know in this action-packed sequel to Trail of Lightning.

Portada de The Ascent to Godhood

Hay que reconocer que las portadas de la serie Tensorate de JY Yang son espectacularmente apabullantes, así que aquí os traigo la de la cuarta entrega, que tendrá por título The Ascent to Godhood.

La sinopsis:

The Protector is dead.
