Estos premios se conceden por contribuciones destacadas a la comunidad de la fantasía y la ciencia ficción. Se añaden al plantel de ganadores donde ya se encuentran Octavia E. Butler, James Tiptree, Jr., Tom Doherty, Carl Sagan, y Sheila Williams, por ejemplo.

La ceremonia de entrega de premios tendrá lugar en la Conferencia de los Nébula del 16 al 19 de mayo de 2019.
