Jedediah Berry es un autor que empieza a aparecer cada vez más en mi radar, aunque todavía no he llegado a leerlo (NMDLV, ya sabéis). Hoy he tropezado con la noticia la publicación de la segunda entrega de su serie The Barbaric Ledgers, titulada Devouring Gods y que Tor.com publicará el 2 de marzo del año que viene.

The noble families of Inwardly have gathered for the social event of the season. Hosted by the captive goddess Culavu and her devoted warrior nuns, the Festival of Keys offers the rich and powerful a chance to dine on choice morsels and amuse themselves with age-old sorceries. And this year’s special guest is a spectacle like no other: Gotchimus, the great barbarian, the wizard slayer.While his hosts debauch themselves, Gotchimus has bigger plans. Trapped in Culavu’s prison realm is a wizard possessing knowledge he and his allies need. To free him, the barbarian will have to outwit the nobles, protect his own dark secret, and turn the party of the year into the heist of the century.
And somehow he has to pull it all off without killing the wizard.

Las familias nobles de Inwardly se han reunido para el evento social de la temporada. Organizado por la diosa cautiva Culavu y sus devotas monjas guerreras, el Festival de las Llaves ofrece a los ricos y poderosos la oportunidad de deleitarse con exquisitos manjares y divertirse con antiguas hechicerías. Y el invitado especial de este año es un espectáculo sin igual: Gotchimus, el gran bárbaro, el asesino de magos.
Mientras sus anfitriones se entregan a los excesos, Gotchimus tiene planes más ambiciosos. Atrapado en el reino prisión de Culavu se encuentra un mago que posee un conocimiento que él y sus aliados necesitan. Para liberarlo, el bárbaro tendrá que burlar a los nobles, proteger su propio oscuro secreto y convertir la fiesta del año en el atraco del siglo.
Y de alguna manera, tendrá que lograrlo todo sin matar al mago.
