Aquí os traigo la que será portada de The Blade Between, la próxima novela de Sam J. Miller, de quien ya hemos comentado algunas obras por aquí.

Esta es la sinopsis:

Ronan Szepessy promised himself he’d never return to Hudson. The sleepy upstate town was no place for a restless gay photographer. But his father is ill and New York City’s distractions have become too much for him. He hopes that a quick visit will help him recharge. 

Ronan reconnects with two friends from high school: Dom, his first love, and Dom’s wife, Attalah. The three former misfits mourn what their town has become—overrun by gentrifiers and corporate interests. With friends and neighbors getting evicted en masse and a mayoral election coming up, Ronan and Attalah craft a plan to rattle the newcomers and expose their true motives. But in doing so, they unleash something far more mysterious and uncontainable. 

Hudson has a rich, proud history and, it turns out, the real-state developers aren’t the only forces threatening its well-being: the spirits undergirding this once-thriving industrial town are enraged. Ronan’s hijinks have overlapped with a bubbling up of hate and violence among friends and neighbors, and everything is spiraling out of control. Ronan must summon the very best of himself to shed his own demons and save the city he once loathed.

Ronan Szepessy se había prometido no volver nunca a Hudson. La ciudad dormitorio no era lugar para un fotógrafo gay. Pero su padre está enfermo y las distracciones de Nueva York son demasiadas para él. Espera que una visita rápida le sirve para recargar pilas.

Ronan vuelve a encontrarse con dos amigos del instituto: Dom, su primer amor y la mujer de Dom, Attalah. Los tres antiguos parias lamentan en lo que se ha convertido su ciudad, arrasada por la gentrificación y los intereses corporativos. Con amigos y vecinos expulsados en masa y una elección general en el futuro, Ronan y Attalah maquinan un plan para incomodar a los nuevos y exponer sus auténticos motivos. Pero al hacerlo, desatan algo más misterioso e incontenible.

Hudson tiene una historia rica y orgullosa, y resulta que los desarrolladores urbanísticos no son las únicas fuerzas que amenazan su bienestar: los espíritus de esta ciudad que fue en su momento muy industrial están enfadados. Los movimientos de Ronan se han superpuesto con el odio y la violencia latente entre amigos y vecinos, y todo se les está yendo de las manos. Ronan deberá encontrar su mejor versión para acabar con sus propios demonios y salvar a la ciudad que odió.
