Guidance from the goddess is unforthcoming, so Aulidd packs up her novice’s robes, her terrible personality and her barely-controlled propensity for taboo magic, and (accompanied by her prickly ex-girlfriend and an enigmatic mercenary) Aulidd sets out on a quest to figure out how to die.

Her only hope is her oldest friend Alric, who fled the bog for the distant spires of the capital’s university. But Alric, brilliant and ambitious, is seeking out Aulidd for his own reasons.
