Aqu\u00ed os traigo informaci\u00f3n sobre Scion<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, la nueva novela de James Islington, que deja de lado la fantas\u00eda temporalmente para adentrarse en la ciencia ficci\u00f3n. Saldr\u00e1 a la venta el 1 de septiembre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta es la sinopsis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My job, when you think about it, isn’t so different from a lot of people’s.

The more old-fashioned crowd do still get hung up on the ‘killing people’ part of it, I guess, but that’s a them problem: it’s been perfectly legal to take out lifers for ages. Besides, once ultrawealthy morons realised they had a way to live forever – limited resources be damned – there was only ever going to be one genuinely practical deterrent.

So, sure, I have to deal with a tonne of boring planning. Inconvenient hours. Some pretty awkward face-to-face interactions. And like most of us, I’m really only clocking in to try and crawl out from beneath my debts. But someone’s got to do it.

Luckily, my genetic compatibilities make me really,\u00a0really\u00a0<\/em>good at doing it.

Still. This next job . . . I don’t know. It’s something I haven’t had to deal with in years. Kind of the opposite of my regular duties. Strange, that it got thrown my way.

Los m\u00e1s antiguos siguen qued\u00e1ndose con la parte de “matar gente”, supongo, pero ese es su problema: lleva a\u00f1os siendo perfectamente legal eliminar lifers<\/em>. Adem\u00e1s, una vez que los imb\u00e9ciles ultrarricos se dieron cuenta de que hab\u00eda una forma de vivir para siempre, sin importarles la escasez de recursos, solo quedaba una forma genuinamente pr\u00e1ctica de disuadirlos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed que, s\u00ed, tengo que lidiar con horas y horas de aburrida planificaci\u00f3n. Horarios irregulares. Algunos cara a cara inc\u00f3modos. Y como la mayor\u00eda, solo lo hago para pagar mis deudas. Pero alguien tiene que hacerlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afortunadamente, mis compatibilidades gen\u00e9ticas me hacen extremadamente bueno en ello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero vamos, que este nuevo trabajo… no s\u00e9. Es algo con lo que no he tenido que lidiar en a\u00f1os. Es justo lo contrario a lo que hago habitualmente. Es raro que me haya cruzado con este trabajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
