Gracias a Marcheto, del imprescindible Cuentos para Algernon<\/a>, me he enterado de que ya hay cubierta para The Long Game<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, la tercera entrega de la “saga” que comenz\u00f3 con Prosper’s Demon<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, recientemente publicado en Espa\u00f1a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta es la sinopsis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The unnamed narrator of\u00a0The Long Game\u00a0<\/em>is an Adept, a member of an Ecclesiastical order charged, among other things, with opposing a race of immaterial demons, creatures capable of possessing and controlling human minds. Complicating the narrator\u2019s life is the fact that, over time, he has developed a cordial \u201crelationship\u201d with one of the demons. Complicating matters further is the unexpected arrival of Amalasomtha, a young woman with impossible abilities who claims to have come from the remote\u2014perhaps mythical\u2014country of Idalia. She also claims that, for reasons she does not entirely understand, she has been tasked with capturing one such demon and returning with it to Idalia. The truth, it turns out, is considerably more complex.<\/p>

Amalasomtha\u2019s arrival sets in motion a chain of events encompassing murder, magic, deception, and an array of unintended consequences. By the story\u2019s end, this consistently witty account of demonic possession, hidden agendas and Ecclesiastical politics has taken us to some unexpected places and given us a glimpse of a larger story still, the \u201clong game\u201d that lies at the heart of all human history.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Tambi\u00e9n afirma que, por razones que no entiende bien, debe capturar a un demonio y llevarlo a Idalia. La verdad acaba siendo bastante m\u00e1s compleja.<\/p>

La llegada de Amalasomtha desencadena una serie de acontecimientos que incluir\u00e1n un asesinato, magia, traici\u00f3n y muchas consecuencias inesperadas. El final de la historia en este inteligent\u00edsimo relato de una posesi\u00f3n demon\u00edaca, los intereses ocultos y las pol\u00edticas eclesi\u00e1sticas nos llevar\u00e1n a lugares inesperados y nos dejar\u00e1n entrever una historia a\u00fan mayor, el Long Game del t\u00edtulo que yace en el coraz\u00f3n de la historia humana. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
