Parker<\/a>, aunque su principal valedora en Espa\u00f1a sea Marcheto. As\u00ed que es una gran alegr\u00eda saber que se va a publicar <a href=\"https:\/\/subterraneanpress.com\/big-score\">una nueva novela corta de este autor<\/a>, pero es que encima est\u00e1 protagonizada por Saloninus, as\u00ed que miel sobre hojuelas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La obra, que se publicar\u00e1 en marzo de 2021, tendr\u00e1 como t\u00edtulo <strong><em>The Big Score<\/em><\/strong>. Esta es la sinopsis:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Saloninus is a man with two distinct professions. In idle moments, he dashes off immortal masterpieces\u2014philosophical treatises, musical compositions, dramas of Shakespearean range and depth\u2014that never manage to turn a profit. His primary profession\u2014that of thief, grifter and itinerant con man\u2014is equally unprofitable, and he spends his life in constant flight from the encroaching forces of the law.<\/p><p>The story opens in the aftermath of Saloninus\u2019s own funeral, an act of self-concealment he has staged many times before. Newly risen from the dead, he encounters an old flame\u2014a sort of archetypal femme fatale\u2014with whom he shares a colorful\u2014and highly illegal\u2014history. She has a plan in mind, one that involves both of Saloninus\u2019s skill sets: criminality and literary genius. If successful, that plan will lead to the elusive \u201cbig score\u201d that will set them free forever. Against his better judgment, and fully aware that failure and betrayal may await him, Saloninus agrees to participate. The result is this ingenious\u2014and very funny\u2014tale.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Mi traducci\u00f3n:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Saloninus es un hombre con dos profesiones muy distintas. En sus ratos libres, escribe tratados filos\u00f3ficos, composiciones musicales y dramas de profundida Shakesperiana que se convierten en obras maestras inmortales, pero de los que nunca saca beneficio. Su profesi\u00f3n principal, como ladr\u00f3n o timador, tampoco es rentable, ya que se pasa el tiempo huyendo de las garras de la ley.<\/p><p>La historia comienza tras el funeral del propio Saloninus, un actuaci\u00f3n que ya ha llevado a cabo en numerosas ocasiones. Reci\u00e9n venido de entre los muertos, se encuentra con una vieja conocida, una mujer fatal arquet\u00edpica con quien comparte una historia colorida e ilegal. Ella tiene un plan que implica el uso de las habilidades de Saloninus: criminalidad y genio literario. Si el plan tuviera \u00e9xito, ser\u00eda el gran golpe que les permitir\u00eda retirarse para siempre. En contra de su sentido com\u00fan y a sabiendas de que le puede esperar la traici\u00f3n, Saloninus decide participar.
